Is Black Lives Matter a Pro-Life Issue? | Monday, November 12 | 12:30pm Midfield Commons, Duncan Student Center

This interactive panel discussion will address if the recent Black Lives Matter movement falls within the Catholic social teaching of pro-life related issues.

This panel will host authorities on life issues, Catholic social justice teaching and the history of African Americans Catholicism in the United States by highlighting Jess Keating, the Director of the Office of Human Dignity and Life Initiatives in the Institute for Church Life, Kyle Lantz, the Director of the Social Concerns Seminars Program, and Dr. Daniels-Sykes, Catholic theological ethicist, an Associate Professor in the Department of Theology at Mount Mary University. This event is also a part of the celebration of Black Catholic History month.

 

Mad Maps | Tuesday, November 13 | 6:00-7:30pm in 210 Duncan Student center

Mad Map is a workshop by the Icarus Project that will examine the way oppression impacts our perspectives and experiences of mental health, and explore non-judgmental approaches to emotional wellbeing, as well as build strategies for coping with and transforming individual struggles, especially in the larger context of social change.


Transgender Day of Remembrance: co-sponsored by Right to Life | Thursday, November 15 | 9:00pm at the Grotto

This prayer service will honor and remember transgender people whose lives have been lost this year based on their identity.
